Santō Ichi-ryū (三刀一流), "Three Swords as One", is an elegant Japanese sword art consisting of kenjutsu, iaijutsu and free form fencing.  Santō Ichi-ryū embodies three separate philosophies in which one learns to harmonize the techniques within our unique strategy as a means to achieve a higher state of martial awareness. Kenjutsu compliments the training aspects of many other martially based systems including but not limited to karate, jujutsu, judo and aikido.  

Our art has maintained its traditional Japanese martial etiquette; however, we do not claim to be a koryu.  If you are interested in joining a koryu, we can refer you in that manner.  

Santō Ichi-ryū recognizes what our founders have bestowed to us is an opportunity to learn a beautiful and unique sword art.  We work diligently to ensure the integrity of our art remains intact when passing it onto the next generation.
