Santō Ichi-ryū (三刀一流), "Three swords one school", is an elegant Japanese sword art consisting of kenjutsu, iaijutsu and free form fencing (using protective gear). Santō Ichi-ryū (SIR) embodies three separate but complimentary philosophies in which one learns to harmonize the techniques within our unique strategy as a means to achieve a higher state of martial awareness. Kenjutsu compliments the training aspects of many other martially based systems including but not limited to karate, jujutsu, judo and aikido.
Throughout the years, our family art has maintained a traditional Japanese martial etiquette however, we are not a koryu based system. If you are interested in joining a koryu, we will gladly refer you in that manner and provide contact.
SIR recognizes what our founders have bestowed to us is an opportunity to learn a beautiful and unique sword art. We work diligently to ensure the integrity of our art remains intact when passing it onto the next generation.
Our focus is on your development and understanding of the art.
